Yoga & Travel Retreat – Himalayan Region, India
“India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition.”
– Mark Twain
“To other countries, I may go as a tourist, but to India, I come as a pilgrim.”
– Martin Luther King Jr.
A YOGA & TRAVEL RETREAT IN THE HIMALAYAN REGION
OCTOBER 05-19, 14Nights/15Days
Have you, my dear readers, ever dreamt of going to India? Has this land fascinated you to the point that you added it to your bucket list? I hear a resounding ‘YES’. Well, in that case, here is an opportunity I am going to offer to you.
You are already aware that I have moved back to India, in a small Himalayan town. And since I have returned, I keep thinking of bringing some of you here to show you the uniqueness of this region and show you the less-explored places, connect you with communities in the villages over here. This part of the state where I live is not big on tourism – both domestic and international – which makes it authentic and untainted by tourist traps. People here genuinely want to connect with outsiders and you get to experience authentic Himalayan hospitality.
I imagine us practicing yoga & meditation on scenic spots overlooking vast mountain ranges and snow-capped peaks towering behind those mountains. We will explore the nature through various nature walks and hikes, find out what local arts & crafts & cuisines we can discover, how communities here come together to form cooperatives and grow through cooperation instead of competition. Most of these places we will go will not be crowded, we will have our peace wherever we go.
After spending half of our time at these places above 2000m, we shall descend to the famous valley town of Rishikesh where the gorgeous river Ganga turns turquoise by the month of October and the whole town seems high on divine energy. We shall spend some time in Rishikesh central area and some time on the outskirts of it, somewhere in a quiet camp up on the mountain overlooking the river and the city of Rishikesh. In Rishikesh, we have ashrams, temples, and caves to visit and a lot of yogis all around 🙂 Afterall, it is a self-proclaimed world capital of Yoga.
Towards the end of the journey, we will go to see the Taj Mahal before heading to Delhi Airport and the 14N/15D long journey shall come to an end which could also be a beginning of a new inspiration to life and a desire to return to mother India. Who knows!

I was born and raised in a spiritual, yogic environment where meditating, chanting, and spiritual goals were given priority to material ones. I have learned from various teachers and traditions along the way and I prefer to nurture and share my own ever-evolving, never-perfect understanding of yoga and life. I strive to speak and teach from authenticity, personal experience and my own practice. I have been teaching in Romania for last five years. I have taught several workshops, retreats and TTCs in various cities in Romania and India. I teach corporate classes, private lessons, group classes, daily morning yoga classes, and regularly organise Pranayama courses, Beginners Yoga Courses, workshops and retreats. Class Title: ‘Ease of Being: Hatha Yoga Inspired’ Description: Through various traditional Hatha yoga asanas and pranayama techniques, together we will discover the stillness present in all movements; silence present in all sounds; emptiness present in all material objects. The aim of these sessions is recognise who we are no matter what we want to be, the essence of our true nature which is ever-present, simple yet profound and always Here and Now. Irrespective of seeking and finding, it is there. We are always Home. We just need to become still and we will easily see it, be it. The classes are fit for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.
